CPS Elite CHAMP! |
Pete is the MMBAS State Champ! My race went smoothly and I did as well as I needed to in order to secure the points series championship. Knowing that I had a good points cushion going into the race, I didn't get myself too fired up at the start. Well, that lackadaisical attitude resulted in me being the very last person off of the line. I knew I didn't get a good jump, but last?!? That meant a first lap of picking off a lot of people and watching the front group ride away getting caught behind the inevitable yo-yo on some of those climbs and single track sections. That also forced me to pin it on the golf cart climb which I was hoping I wouldn't have to do. Lesson - get a little fired up at the start. I hooked up with Jason Lummis towards the end of the 1st lap and we rode and chit-chatted the rest of the race together and then sprinted for it at the end. I ended up in 7th, well within what I needed to clinch the points. -Pete | |

Michigan Tailwind/Ford NORBA series finals a Pontaic Lake! Its a good thing Justin had the series wrapped up going into the final race at Pontiac. He came down with a sore throat, posibly strep, during the week. He still tried to race but had to stop after one lap. Dan took the victory at Pontiac and Eric saved 2nd place after a crash and chain problem. Jim held onto 8th place, also feeling under the weather. Both Bryan and Criapy were still recovering from injuries at Nationals and didn't race. | |
